Speaking အတြက္ဝါက်တိုေလးမ်ား (၂၇)

အရင္ post မွာ ဝါက်နံပါတ္ ၇၆၀ မွာရပ္ခဲ့တယ္။ ဒီမွာ ၇၆၁ မွ စလိုက္ၾကစို႔။

၇၆၁။ He can't stay focused on his studies.
သူဟာ စာကို အာရံုစိုက္မထားႏိုင္ဘူး။
to stay focused on something= တစံုတခုကို အာရံုစိုက္ထားသည္

၇၆၂။ A lot of students memorize the notes.
ေက်ာင္းသားမ်ားဟာ မွတ္စုေတြကို အလြတ္က်က္ၾကတယ္။

စာကိုအလြတ္က်က္တယ္လို႔ေျပာရင္ to learn something by heart သို႔မဟုတ္ to learn something by rote ကိုမွတ္ပါ။
They learn the notes by heart.
They learn the notes by rote.
မွတ္စုေတြကို အာဂံုေဆာင္ အလြတ္က်က္တယ္။
အဲလိုက်က္မွတ္တာကို rote learning သို႔မဟုတ္ memorization လို႔သံုးတယ္။

သူတို႔ရည္းစားႏွစ္ေယာက္ အတည္တက်တြဲေနတာ သံုးႏွစ္ရွိၿပီ။
to go steady with someone= အတည္တက်တြဲေနသည္

အေကာင္းဆံုးကိုေမွ်ာ္လင့္ၿပီး အဆိုးဆံုးအတြက္ျပင္ဆင္ထားပါ။

ငါ ဒီေန႔ အလုပ္ေတြမ်ားခဲ့လို႔ ပင္ပန္းလိုက္တာ။

၇၆၉။ I keep in touch with my old friends through Facebook.
မိတ္ေဆြေဟာင္းေတြနဲ႔ Facebook မွတဆင့္ အဆက္အသြယ္မျပတ္ေအာင္ေနတယ္။

လူငယ္ေတြက IT နည္းပညာကို ကၽြမ္းက်င္ျကတယ္။

၇၇၁။ English is the language of the Internet and social media.
အဂၤလိပ္စာဟာ အင္တာနက္နဲ႔ လူမႈကြန္ယက္တို႔မွာ အသံုးျပဳတဲ့ ဘာသာစကားပါ။

၇၇၂။ How long can you hold your breath under water?
ေရေအာက္မွာ အသက္မရႈဘဲ မင္း ဘယ္ေလာက္ၾကာေအာင္ေနႏိုင္သလဲ။
to hold one's breath= အသက္ေအာင့္ထားသည္

၇၇၃။ He is an eager beaver.
သူဟာ အလုပ္ကိုတက္ႂကြထက္သန္စြာလုပ္သူ။
(eager beaver ဟာ လူႀကီးေရွ႕မွ ျပာယာခတ္ေအာင္လုပ္ျပတဲ့ " အနားျပာ" လို အဆိုးျမင္တဲ့ သေဘာနဲ႔လည္းသံုးတတ္ၾကတယ္)

the life of the party= ရီစရာေျပာတတ္ အေျပာေကာင္းၿပီး လူတိုင္းႏွစ္သက္ၾကတဲ့သူ

ဒါဟာ (ပံုႀကီးခ်ဲ႕ေျပာဆိုေနရေလာက္ေအာင္) အေရးႀကီးလို႔လားကြာ။

အားေတာ့နာပါရဲ႕၊ ဒီကိစၥကို ကၽြန္ေတာ္ ျငင္းရပါလိမ့္မယ္။

၇၈၁။ A little knowledge is a dangerous thing.
မဆိုစေလာက္ေလးသိတာဟာ အႏၲရာယ္ရွိတယ္။

A little learning is a dangerous thing. လည္းအတူတူပါ။

၇၈၂။ He is a wolf in sheep's clothing.
သူဟာ ေၾကာင္သူေတာ္ ႂကြက္သူခိုး။

a wolf in sheep's clothing သိုးေရျခံဳထားတဲ့ ေျမေခြး...လို႔ အဂၤလိပ္ အီဒီယမ္မွာ သံုးတယ္။
He is a hypocrite. သူဟာ သီလေၾကာင္၊ လူေကာင္းလိုဟန္ေဆာင္ထားသူ ...လို႔ တိုတိုေျပာလည္းရတယ္။

ငါ့အဖိုးကေတာ့ မာမာခ်ာခ်ာရွိေသးတယ္။
alive and kicking = ထူထူေထာင္ေထာင္ လႈပ္လႈပ္ရွားရွား က်န္းမာေနလွ်က္

၇၈၅။ We are going to an "all-you-can-eat" restaurant.
ငါတို႔ စိတ္ႀကိဳက္အဝစား ဆိုင္ကိုသြားမလို႔။
အဝစားဆိုင္၊ အဝစားကို buffet လည္းရတယ္။ all you can eat လည္းအသံုးမ်ားတယ္။

၇၈၆။ She is the apple of my eye.
သူ႔ၾကည့္ရတာ စိတ္ခ်မ္းေျမ႕လိုက္တာ။
apple of one's eye အီဒီယံ ဟာ ကိုယ္အရမ္းသေဘာက်သူ၊ အခ်စ္ရဆံုးသူကို ရည္ၫြန္းပါတယ္

၇၈၇။ Please come back to your parents as soon as possible.
မင္းရဲ႕ မိဘမ်ားထံ ျဖစ္ႏိုင္သမွ် အျမန္ဆံုးျပန္လာပါ။

၇၈၈။ Ashes to ashes, dust to dust.
လူ႔ဘဝဆိုတာ ေျမႀကီးထဲကလာၿပီး ေျမႀကီးထဲကိုျပန္သြား အဆံုးသတ္ၾကရတယ္။

သူ မဆိုင္တဲ့အေပါက္ကို ဂလိုင္နဲ႔ေခါက္ေနတယ္။ (မေယာင္ရာဆီလူး..လို႔ေျပာလည္းရတယ္)
to bark up the wrong tree ဟာ အီဒီယံပါ။ အပင္မွားၿပီးေဟာင္ေနတာတဲ့။ သူလိုက္ဖမ္းေနတဲ့ အေကာင္ဟာဒီအပင္ေပၚတက္ေျပးသြားတယ္လို႔ထင္ၿပီး အဲဒီအပင္ကိုၾကည့္ၿပီးထိုးေဟာင္ေနတဲ့ ေခြးကိုျမင္ေယာင္ၾကည့္ပါ။ တကယ္ကေတာ့ အေကာင္ေလးဟာ ဟိုဖက္ကသစ္ပင္တစ္ပင္ေပၚကိုခုန္ထြက္သြားတာ ေခြးကမသိဘူးေလ။

ေျပာေနက်အတိုင္းထပ္ေျပာလိုက္ပါရေစ......
ဝါက်ေလးေတြကို အသံထြက္ၿပီး ထပ္ခါထပ္ခါဖတ္။ အလြတ္ရေအာင္မွတ္ၾကပါ။
