Speaking အတြက္ဝါက်တိုေလးမ်ား (၁၄)

အရင္ post မွာ ဝါက်နံပါတ္ ၃၇၀မွာရပ္ခဲ့တယ္။ ဒီမွာ ၃၇၁ မွ စလိုက္ၾကစို႔။

၃၇၁။ I look the other way whenever I see him.
သူ႔ကိုေတြ႕တိုင္း ငါဟိုဘက္လွည့္ၿပီး မျမင္ေယာင္ေဆာင္ေနလိုက္တယ္။
(စကားမေျပာခ်င္၍ လစ္လွ်ဳရႈထားတာ ကို to look the other way သူလာေနတာေတြ႕ရင္ ဟိုဘက္ၾကည့္ေနလိုက္တယ္လို႔ သံုးတယ္)

၃၇၂။ He is a henpecked husband,who never dares to contradict his wife.
သူဟာ မိန္းမေၾကာက္ရသူ (မယားေၾကာက္ မယက)၊ သူ႔ရဲ႕မိန္းမကို ဘယ္ေတာ့မွဆန္႔က်င္ရဲတာမဟုတ္။

henpecked husband= မယက
dare= လုပ္ရဲသည္
contradict= ဆန္႔က်င္သည္
လြယ္လြယ္ေျပာခ်င္ရင္ contradict အစား to go against သံုးပါ။ He dares not go against his wife.

၃၇၃။ He likes to bully the smaller kids.
သူဟာ ခေလးငယ္ေတြကို အႏိုင္က်င့္တတ္တယ္။

bully (verb) အႏိုင္က်င့္သည္
bully (noun) အႏိုင္က်င့္သူ

၃၇၄။ He is so full of himself.
သူဟာ သူ႔ကိုယ္သူအရမ္း အဟုတ္ႀကီးထင္ေနတာ။

full of oneself= too proud of oneself ကိုယ္ အရမ္းဟုတ္လွၿပီ ေတာ္လွၿပီထင္ၿပီး မာနေထာင္ေနတတ္ေသာ

၃၇၅။ He is quite arrogant.
သူဟာ သိပ္ေမာက္မာတယ္။

၃၇၆။ I will see you off at the airport.
မင္းကိုငါ ေလယဥ္ကြင္းလိုက္ပို႔မယ္။
to see someone off လို႔မွတ္ပါ။

၃၇၇။ I can drop you off at your school.
(ငါ့ကားနဲ႔ ကားၾကံဳလိုက္ခဲ့ပါ) မင္းရဲ႕ေက်ာင္းမွာ ခ်ေပးမယ္။
to drop someone off လို႔မွတ္ပါ။

၃၇၈။ I will come to meet you at the airport.
မင္းကို ငါ ေလယဥ္ကြင္းမွာလာႀကိဳမယ္။

၃၇၉။ The driver elpoed with the maid.
ယဥ္ေမာင္းဟာ အိမ္ေဖာ္နဲ႔ ခိုးရာလိုက္ေျပးတယ္။
to elope= ခိုးရာလိုက္သည္

၃၈၀။ I need to buy some groceries.
ငါ (ဆီ ဆန္ ဆား စသည္ျဖင့္) ကုန္ေျခာက္ေလးေတြဝယ္ရမယ္။

၃၈၁။ I quite agree with you.
မင္းေျပာတာကို ငါ အရမ္းသေဘာတူပါတယ္။

၃၈၂။ That's not what I mean.
ငါ ေျပာခ်င္တာ၊ ဆိုလိုတာ ဒါမဟုတ္ဘူး။
(အဲလိုေျပာတာမဟုတ္ဘူူး)

ငါ ေခၽြးေတြအရမ္းထြက္ေနၿပီ။
I am bathing in sweat.
sweat ဆိုတာ ေခၽြး။ bathing in sweat ေခၽြးနဲ႔ေရခ်ိဳးထားသလို၊ ေခၽြးေတြရႊဲနစ္ေနတယ္ေပါ့။

၃၈၆။ Can you turn on the aircon?
အဲယားကြန္းဖြင့္လိုက္ပါလား။

၃၈၇။ It is costly to take a cab every day.
ေန႔တိုင္း တကၠစီ စီးတာစရိတ္ႀကီးတာေပါ့။
costly (adjective)= expensive, costing a lot of money
cab= taxi

၃၈၈။ Customer is always right.
စားသံုးသူ၊ ေဖာက္သည္ဟာ အၿမဲမွန္ပါတယ္။

၃၈၉။ He is such a coward.
သူဟာ သူရဲေဘာေၾကာင္သူ။

၃၉၀။ She is a timid girl.
သူဟာ ရဲတင္းမႈမရွိ၊ ေၾကာက္တတ္တဲ့ေကာင္မေလး။

၃၉၁။ We are in the same boat.
ငါတို႔ေတြဟာ ဘဝတူေတြပါ (တေလွတည္းစီးေနရတဲ့ခရီးေဖာ္ေတြ)

၃၉၂။ Never leave your work unfinished.
အလုပ္ကို ဘယ္ေတာ့မွ တန္းလန္းမထားခဲ့နဲ႔။

၃၉၃။ He regrets having married that woman.
အဲဒီမိန္းမကို လက္ထပ္ခဲ့မိတာကို သူေနာင္တရေနတယ္။
regret= ေနာင္တ၊ ေနာင္တရသည္

၃၉၄။ I've been thinking of a career change.
အလုပ္အသစ္ေျပာင္းမလားလို႔စဥ္းစားေနတာ။

၃၉၅။ This job doesn't pay well.
ဒီအလုပ္က ပိုက္ဆံသိပ္မရ၊ လခမေကာင္းဘူး။

၃၉၆။ With my experience, I can find a better job with a better pay.
ငါ့အေတြ႕အၾကံဳနဲ႔ဆို လခပိုေကာင္းတဲ့ အလုပ္ေကာင္းေကာင္းရႏိုင္တယ္။

၃၉၇။ I'm sorry that I yelled at you.
မင္းကို ငါေအာ္လိုက္မိတာ ေတာင္းပန္ပါတယ္။

ငါ စိတ္လြတ္ကိုယ္လြတ္ျဖစ္သြားလို႔။

ေနာက္ဒါမ်ိဳးထပ္မလုပ္ပါဘူးလို႔ ကတိေပးပါတယ္။

ေက်နပ္မႈမရွိလွ်င္တိုင္ၾကားပါ...လို႔ဆိုၾကေသာ္လည္း) မေက်နပ္တာေတြေျပာေနလို႔ အလကားပါပဲ။
pointless= useless, futile အလကား၊ အခ်ည္းအႏွီးျဖစ္ေသာ
